Watkins not for sale
Aston Villa have made it clear to Manchester United that Ollie Watkins is not for sale, despite an initial inquiry from the club.
Watkins, valued at around £60m, remains central to Villa’s plans as they prepare for the new season.

United exploring options
United’s search for a new striker includes Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, but no concrete progress has been made so far.
Sources say Villa’s refusal to engage over Watkins has prompted United to widen their scouting list.
Villa eye Garnacho
Villa have shown interest in Alejandro Garnacho, yet they are unable to meet United’s asking price for the winger.
Garnacho himself is keen to stay in the Premier League and feature in the Champions League, though no deal has been agreed.
Separate negotiations
Any potential deals involving Watkins and Garnacho would be treated separately, with Villa unwilling to include player swaps or linked discussions.
Chelsea are also monitoring Garnacho but have yet to make a formal move.
United’s transfer direction
United recently signed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71m, shifting focus to player exits.
Moves are being worked on for Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Garnacho, following Marcus Rashford’s switch to Barcelona.
