Armed bandits have kidnapped 23 women in Moriki town located in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State while they were out in the bush collecting firewood

The incident which took place around 1:30 pm on Friday August 2 was reported on Sunday by security expert Zagazola Makama via his official X account
Ambushed in the Bush
According to security sources who spoke with Makama the women all residents of Moriki were attacked and abducted in the bush area on the outskirts of the town and taken to an unknown location
The women were ambushed and seized while they were busy gathering firewood outside the town They were later taken away by the bandits to an undisclosed place
Rescue Efforts Underway
In response to the incident troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA working in collaboration with local vigilantes and other security forces have launched a coordinated search and rescue mission
A joint team of military personnel and local security operatives have begun tracking the criminals to rescue the victims and dismantle the camp responsible for the abduction
Ongoing Search for Justice and Recovery
The same sources also revealed that efforts were ongoing not only to safely recover the abducted women but also to ensure the apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrators
