Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has backed Marcus Rashford to succeed in La Liga, following the English forward’s recent loan move to FC Barcelona from Manchester United.
Speaking in an interview with Jijantes, Cucurella praised Rashford’s pace, strength, and versatility, emphasizing that the winger’s physical attributes make him well-suited for the Spanish league.
“Good, good. I like him,” Cucurella said. “Physically, he’ll do very well in La Liga. He’s very fast, and the pace here is different from the Premier League. He’s used to the speed of the English game, but in La Liga, the tempo is a bit slower. I think he can really shine here.”
Rashford’s move to Barcelona has generated excitement among fans across Europe, as he aims to regain trm after a mixed run at Trafford.
Marc Cucurella, who came through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, also shared his desire to face his former club in the upcoming Champions League season. However, he had reservations about the venue.
“I’d love to play against them—but only at Stamford Bridge. Playing at Montjuïc while Camp Nou is still under construction takes the emotion away. It’s not the same.”
