President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the full payment of bonuses and allowances for Nigeria’s Super Falcons ahead of their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final against hosts Morocco.

Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, confirmed on Friday that all entitlements have been disbursed for immediate payment to players and officials.
“This is the kind of sports administration we are building, one rooted in dignity, trust, and shared prosperity,” Dikko told reporters.
“Future generations would appreciate President Tinubu’s reforms in the sports sector.”

Nigeria will face Morocco on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
• Morocco are seeking their first-ever WAFCON title, having lost to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana three years ago.
• The Super Falcons are aiming for a record-extending tenth title in the competition.
