President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate employment of 200 outstanding National Youth Service Corps NYSC members into the federal civil service in recognition of their exceptional service during the 2020 to 2023 service years

Announced on Tuesday July 29, the decision also includes a cash award of N250000 to each honoree. The President emphasized the move as part of his administration’s commitment to rewarding patriotism, excellence, and sacrifice among Nigerian youths
Support for Physically Challenged Corps Members
In addition to the 200 honorees, Tinubu also ordered the employment of 10 physically challenged ex-corps members who sustained various disabilities while serving the nation. He reassured them that the government would never forget the sacrifices they made in the line of duty
Official Presentation at NYSC Honours Award Ceremony
The announcement was made during the President’s NYSC Honours Award Ceremony covering 2020 to 2023, held in Abuja. Representing the President at the event was the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nkeiruka Onyejeocha
Tinubu praised the honorees for demonstrating discipline commitment selflessness teamwork patriotism and integrity during their national service. He stated that processes for their employment into the civil service would begin immediately
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission will immediately begin their employment process
Postgraduate Scholarships for All Honorees
The President went further to announce that all award recipients including those with disabilities, will be granted scholarships to pursue postgraduate degrees in any Nigerian university of their choice
In appreciation of their service to the nation all the awardees will receive N250000 Finally each award recipient will be granted a scholarship to pursue postgraduate programs up to a degree in any university in the country
Recognizing the Best of the Best
The event also celebrated the best overall male and female performers among the awardees who distinguished themselves in various fields during their service year
This move adds to the administration’s efforts to boost morale and recognize young Nigerians who have gone above and beyond during their service to the country.
