Speculation spread on Monday that Asisat Oshoala, star forward of the Super Falcons, had decided to retire from international football just before their crucial semi-final clash against South Africa at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
A former Super Eagles media officer, Colin Udoh, clarified the situation in a video on his X page.
“Asisat is too smart to make that announcement the day before such a decisive game,” Udoh said.
“It wasn’t on her official pages, so ignore the rumour.”Fans can rest assured that Oshoala remains focused on leading the Super Falcons as they aim for a place in the WAFCON final.
